Bill
Corden has recently moved to Buffalo, Wyoming, from Michigan January 2009.
After 10
years as a manufacturer with General Motors, he was laid off. Despite his family’s protests, he moved to Wyoming to seek a new
life for his family.
In order to
attain employment right away, Bill left behind his wife Jill and five children,
also his beloved mother to make the trip. Bill felt the sting of isolation
without his family. Bill has been
attending Buffalo
Seventh-day Adventist
Church.
In 2007 the
year before they left Michigan,
Bill and Jill, Methodists at the time, responded to a church flyer that invited
them to an Adventist prophecy seminar.
They soon began attending church and were baptized together the summer
of 2008.
Bill and his
wife in the past year have learned alot about God’s love and his healing power.
This is their story below:
Three of
Bill’s children were struggling in the Michigan
public school system, especially his 9-year-old daughter, Kiley.
Introverted
and shy, Kiley could barely read at a 4th grade level and was doing
poorly in math. Bill feared that she
would not get passing grades to move into the next grade level.
Bill’s wife
had always been a stay at home Mom and he knew that they could not afford
tuition for a Christian Education. He applied anyway to Greater Lansing
Adventist Elementary School.
To Bill’s
surprise he was notified that all three of his children would attend Greater
Lansing on full scholarships. Bill and
Jill were not prepared for the honest and giving spirit of the Adventist people
and better yet the amazing result in Kiley after just one year.
Kiley
blossomed under the guidance of the loving and spiritual environment of the
school. After one year she is reading at
an 8th grade level, and has mastered math at her grade level. Her
parents are so delighted, and a shining and bright Kiley talks of Jesus and His
love every day.
Bill supports our effort 100 % to
open an Adventist Conference-certified school in Buffalo.
Bill has seen the safe haven and
healing power of Jesus in his children first hand. He wants to be able to
continue to provide this to his children.
